Araraume Bounces Back as Appellate Court Grant Stay of Execution
Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume again retained his ticket as the APC Senate Candidate for the Okigwe Senate Bye-election, after nearly losing hold of it for some hours today.
The Appeal Court which gave a judgement today in favor of Mr. Frank Ibezim did not see the Abuja High court judgement, which clearly mandated INEC not to substitute the name of Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume with that of Disqualified Frank Ibezim, and further banned Ibezim from participating in future elections.
The Appeal Court judgment left a lot of loopholes as it did not mandate INEC for some actions.
Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume did not waste time in utilising the opportunity, and perceived loopholes, and obtained a stay of execution against the appeal Court judgment and remains the candidate of APC.
This is a blow to the Imo Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who boosted about how he would overturn the earlier High Court judgment, and remove Araraume as the party’s candidate.
