The crime of those being assaulted by the policemen is yet to be ascertained.
The video has drawn widespread condemnation of the Nigerian security operatives, as they are accused of being very irresponsible in dealing with unarmed citizens.
There have been heightened tension in Orlu, following the clashes between members of the Nnamdi Kanu Eastern Security Network ESN, and men of the Nigeria Army and Police.
There have been very heavy military presence in Orlu, with heavy shooting, which had resulted in the deaths of some security operatives, and civilians.
There have been no reported casualty on the side of the ESN, as there is there are claims that their bodies are impenetrable by bullets.
Many of those who expressed displeasure at the flogging of unarmed citizens, told the policemen to leave unarmed civilians and go into the bush like Nnamdi Kanu had challenged them, to engage ESN members.
