The factional Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, in Imo State, Mr. Madueke Daniel Nwafor, have cried out over a publication by a local tabloid, Trumpeta Newspaper, claiming that he was starved of money to work.
According to Trumpeta Newspaper, Nwafor allegedly appealed to former Govenror of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, who is backing his faction, for cash to be able to work, so that their supporters will not abandon them.
According to Trumpeta, Nwafor alleged that Okorocha had abandoned him.
However reacting on his Facebook page, Nwafor debunked the claims by Trumpeta Newspaper, alleging it was a plot to destroy his relationship with Okorocha.
His post on his Facebook page reads as follows;
“The news about me in trumpeta newspaper of Thur 28th Jan 2021 is merely trying to spoil the good and wonderful relationship which exists between me and my mentor Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha. It is a failed blackmail as i have not and in the near future do not intend to deal with Trumpeta newspaper. It is a busy body newspaper so should be only used as tissue paper which it is fit for.”
The Imo APC has been engulfed in a battle for dominance, over who controls the party, with Okorocha on one side backing Nwafor against the Marcon Nlemigbo faction, which has the backing of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
