Former NBA chairman, Owerri Chapter, NH Nwankwo was reportedly murdered in his office by yet to be identified persons.
This is even as his personal driver is yet to be seen since last Saturday, the said legal luminary was murdered.
In a release signed by the NBA Secretary Owerri Branch, Chinedu Agu and made available to Lead, the deceased who left for office last Saturday was on Sunday morning found dead on cold blood.
As contained in the release, the homicide department of the police who went to office confirmed he was stabbed to death after discovering some matchets and injuries sustained.
Confirming the death, the Imo State Police Command under the leadership of Cp Nasiru Mohammade has recovered the lifless body of a lawyer, who according to the report was brutally murdered inside his own office with matchet .
According to the information contained in a press release made available to Journalists by the Imo state Police command’s police public relations officer, Sp Ikeokwu Godson Orlando , On Saturday the 6th of February 2021, the Command recieved a report of the death of one Barrister Ndieonyema Nwankwo Esq. , 64 Years old, a native of Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia state.
Even as it further disclosed that, based on the report, operatives of the Command moved to the scene (his office) and met the lifeless body of the lawyer in the pool of his own blood, with matchet cuts on his neck.
It further revealed that, taking a further look around the office, a matchet with blood stains, suspected to have been the matchet used in inflicting the cuts on him, was found on the floor.
Pointing out that, It was also discovered that his car and other yet to be identified items were taken away.
The Commissioner of Police, Imo state, CP Nasiru Mohammed, while asking for calm, has directed investigation into the matter, with a view to arresting the fleeing suspect(s) and recovers the stolen items.
