Rochas Okorocha to be arraigned in Court by Police

Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, was today 21th February 2021, detained by the Imo State Police Command, after a clash between his supporters and agents of the Imo State Government, led by the SpecialAssistant to Senator Hope Uzodinma on Special Duties, Chinasa Nwaneri.

Trouble started when Okorocha trespassed into the Royal Spring Palm Hotels, a hotel owned by his wife, but sealed on Friday, by agents of the Imo State Government, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.

The first wave of attacks saw Okorocha’s vehicles destroyed by thugs loyal to Uzodinma, who were allegedly mobilized to the premises, after Okorocha gained access into it.

The Police would arrive and take Okorocha and some of his lieutenants, into custody.

According to Punch correspondent in Imo State, Mr. Chidiebube Okeoma, while Ijeoma Igboanusi, Lasbrey Okafor-Anyanwu and Steve Asinuobi were moved into conventional cells, Okorocha is currently being held at the CP’s waiting room at the command headquarters, with policemen stationed to assist him if he needs help.

Okeoma further stated, that he could authoritatively confirm, that the former governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, will be arriagned in Owerri in the morning by the police.

This was further confirmed by the state Commissioner for information, Emelumba, who affirmed that Okorocha would be arraigned in the morning.
