More trouble for Rochas Okorocha as Mbaike backs recall
Trouble seems to be following the former governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha around, as leaders from Mbaitoli and Ikeduru, have thrown their support behind OPOCA’s move to recall him from the Senate.
A group from Orlu Zone, under the aegis of Orlu People Consultative Assembly OPOCA, has made move to recall Senator Rochas Okorocha from the Senate, after his arrest by the police, for breaking into his wife’s hotel, which had been sealed by the Imo State Govenrment, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
Uzodinma had stated that he carried out the seizure, in accordance to a Judicial Panel of Enquiry report, commissioned by his predecessor Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.
Reacting, leaders from Mbaike decried the conversion of lands belonging to Mbieri, by the former governor, which was used to build his palatial Spibat Estate.
The Mbaike leaders saluted OPOCA for the move, and even though Mbaike cannot vote in Orlu to recall Okorocha, the leaders gave their support for the move.
However, the N1billion price tag given for the recall of the former governor, has not gone done well with Imo people, who have urged Uzodinma to use that money to pay salaries and pensions, rather than chasing after Rochas Okorocha.
