Uche Ogbuagu in trouble, as Imo Assembly probe purported resignation letter

Sacked former Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly, Uche Ogbuagu, may have landed himself in further hot water, following a letter he published on the social media, hours after his sack, claiming that he actually resigned the position.

Ogbuagu had released the letter, which circulated on the social media, claiming that he was not sacked, as alleged by the Imo State House of Assembly, but rather, he had tendered his resignation, almost a month before his supposed sack.

Interestingly, Ogbuagu, at a recent function before his sack, still paraded himself as the House Majority Leader, and even drove to work on the day of his sack, with his seal of Majority Leader, boldly displayed in front of his car.

Also worrisome of the letter that was circulated on the social media, was the absence of any signature from the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, signifying that the letter was handed in officially and received.

The Imo State House of Assembly, had come under ridicule, following the release of the letter, which also took a swipe at the House Leadership, both in the address and content, and had prompted the Imo State Assembly to set up a panel, to probe the purported resignation letter by Uche Ogbuagu, and if found to be false, further sanctions may be handed down on Ogbuagu, aside from his sack as Majority Leader.
