Rochas Okorocha may beg Ihedioha for political accommodation
If the political trend in the state, continues the way it is going for former governor, and Senator representing Orlu zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha, within the All Progressives Congress APC, which he is a founding member of the, the former Imo govenror may end up becoming a political refugee, begging Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha for political accommodation, in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
As it stands now, Okorocha seems to be without a political party he can lay claims to, and this is occasioned by his refusal to be part of the APC membership revalidation and registration exercise.
Okororcha along with his political associates and disciples, such as Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Hon. Kingsley Uju, Hon. Ozuruigbo Ozb, amongst others, all of whom belong to the Daniel Nwafor faction in the state chapter of the party, have ignored the exercise.
Daniel Nwafor and Marcon Nlemigbo, have been battling each other leadership, over who is the rightful leadership of the APC in Imo state.
Nlemigbo enjoys the backing of Senator Hope Uzodinma, while Senator Rochas Okororcha back Nwafor, himself, a former administrative to his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.
Nlemigbo also enjoys the support of the National leadership of the party.
Sometime ago, Okororcha had said that he would reconcile with the former governor, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, if the former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, publicly tenders an apology, for the assault on his daughter and Uche Nwosu’s wife, who was almost slapped by thugs working for Jasper Ndubaku, who headed Ihedioha’s Recovery Team, while he was in power.
However, with the arrest, humiliation and harassment he has suffered latelt, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma, for breaking into his own property, that was sealed also at the orders of Hope Uzodinma, Okororcha may soon realize, that he has lost relevance in the APC and the party, may no longer care about him.
Even his visit to Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo, while Uzodinma is hobnobbing with President Muhammadu Buhari, should be a pointer to him, that he has probably lost relevance.
Okorocha’s hope for political survival and relevance, may now lie PDP, which is in the firm control of the recently reconciled Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Samuel Anyanwu SamDaddy.
Interestingly, it took a gang up of Rochas Okororcha, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and Uche Nwosu, along with Senator Hope Uzodinma, to remove Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha from office, through the Supreme Court.
Their unholy political union didn’t even survive more than two months after Uzodinma was sworn in, before he started dealing with them.
Araraume was Uzodinma’s first victim, as he has practically lost his bid to return to the Senate, to a political newcomer, Frank Ibezim, who Uzodinma presented for the sole purpose of stopping Araraume.
Uzodinma has turned his attention on Okorocha, with more of his property marked for foreclosure and demolition, while jail time for the former presidential aspirant may not be off the table.
