“Compel Okorocha To Account For Over N20billion, And Billions In Equipment Ohakim Left For Him, ” Lawyer Urges Hope Uzodinma

An Owerri based legal practitioner, Obidike Nwagwu Esq, have called on Senator Hope Uzodinma, to compel former governor, and Senator representing Orlu zone, Senator Rochas Okorocha, to reveal to the people of Imo State, what happened to the over N20billion in cash, as well as equipment worth billions of Naira, he inherited from former governor Ikedi Ohakim.

Recall that Okorocha had during his time as governor, threatened to probe Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, but suddenly stopped when Ohakim told him that he was ready to be probed.

Ohakim had revealed in his Facebook page, that he left behind cash totally about N22billion in various interest yielding banks, which he handed over to Okorocha.

Ohakim’ s government also procured billions of naira worth of construction equipment, for the Imo Rural Roads Maintenance Agency IRROMA.

There were 27 pieces of brand new bulldozers, payloaders, road graders, as well as Toyota Hilux trucks for the engineering supervisors for all 27 Local governments in the state.

Ohakim also procured motorcycles for lower staff of the program.

Ohakim further procured mechanised refuse disposal trucks, 27 fully fitted ambulances for emergency response in all 27 Local governments, over 20 luxury buses to help ease transportation in the state, brand news cars and buses both for the Imo Transport Company ITC, and the local bus management company.

Ohakim also provided over 10, 000 refuse disposal units all marked with the Clean and Green logo.

All those equipment and vehicles vanished under the watch of Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Some of the refuse units were later sighted in other states in the country, where they were sold to. The logo on their sides gave them away.

The last time the luxury buses were seen, was when Okorocha used them to convey visitors for his birthday, after changing their colors from the Ohakim green, to black and orange.

News broke of a former TC Chairman under Okorocha from Ikeduru, fingered in the selling of the construction equipment, who made away with the proceeds.

Nwagwu called on Uzodinma to investigate the matter, and let Imo people know the whereabouts of those cash and equipment, Okorocha inherited from Ohakim.

Recall that Okorocha was a former aide to Ohakim, and Ohakim played major role, and almost finance the entire burial of Okorocha’ s mother, but Okorocha battled Ohakim, even refusing to pay him his entitlements, until Ohakim used the court to force the banks to pay him.
