One Ex-Gov Arrested by EFCC, Another Sued for Blackmail, What’s wrong with Imo State? – Reno Omokri

Some shocking news filtered in this evening announcing the arrest of a former Imo governor and the senator representing Imo west senatorial district in the senate, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha.

The senator and former governor has been in a running battle with his predecessor, Hope Uzodimma for a while.

After the arrest was announced, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri however, noticed that 2 ex-governors of Imo state have recently been drawn into some controversial cases with the law.

First, it was the former governor, Ikedi Ohakim who had been linked with a very scandalous case as he was accused of trying to blackmail his former lady friend with her nudes.

The woman, one Mrs. Chinyere Amuchinwa, in a petition dated July 20, 2020, and addressed to the former IGP, Mohammed Adamu and the (DSS) had accused the former governor of defrauding her of N500 million.

Sometime in February this year, the Gov was arraigned alongside one of his aides.

They were accused of threatening to release the nudes of the said Mrs Chinyere Amuchinwa if she does not drop the allegations against the former governor.

As Imolites were trying to get a grip on the story affecting Ohakim who is an ex-governor, Ex- Gov Rochas Okorocha and the incumbent, Hope Uzodimma started their own show.

Hope Uzodimma had accused the former governor of using state funds to build properties across the state.

Recall the free-for-all-fight that happened when the fmr gov, Okorocha stormed his estate to unseal it after the IMO state governor had sealed off the property.

Just this evening the EFCC confirmed the arrest of the ex-gov, Okorocha in his Abuja office.

The EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren had confirmed the arrest and also confirmed it bothered around some alleged fraud that occurred during the 8-year tenure of the fmr governor.

Omokri in his tweet had wondered what is happening in Imo as the situation seemed dire. He had also asked why Imo should have champions, yet vote in charlatans.

Recall the state has also been a center of a mini-war zone as the IPOB militia, ESN has been in a stand-off with men of the Nigerian Army.

Some facilities of the Nigerian police force have also, been razed down by some unknown gunmen making the state very tumultuous in the past months.
