Aftermath of IPOB’s sit-at-home: Imo govt seals banks
Officials of the Imo State Government have shut down some banks along Bank Road in Owerri, the state capital.
Some of the affected banks that were sealed by the state government were Access, Polaris, First Bank, Eco Bank, and United Bank for Africa.
Some of the staff of the banks told our correspondent that the operatives of Owerri Capital Development Authority sealed the banks.
The affected banks were allegedly those that failed to open on Monday, following the Sit-at-Home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB to South Eastern states.
However, some government officials said that the banks were sealed because of building approval plans.
Business activities was brought to a halt by the Sit-at-Home order of the IPOB across the South East, costing the people of the region billions.
More details on the situation would be brought to you as we get it.
